The Challenge

A Director of Social Media and Content at a major hospital wanted to share user-generated content from their patients, but she repeatedly ran into problems with their hospital’s legal team. The overall fear was sharing content that wouldn’t be HIPAA compliant and could get their hospital in major trouble. 

The Response

The leader shared this problem with their fellow SocialMedia.org Health members.

Within a couple of hours, another hospital social media leader shared their HIPAA-compliant digital consent form, explaining how it had been thoroughly vetted — with multiple rounds of trial and error. 

 The Results

The SocialMedia.org Health member was able to use this as a template for their own — saving their team weeks of effort.
