2022 was another year where you worked tirelessly to fulfill your ever-changing role. We recognize that it can be a hard, lonely position to be in — which is why we value you so much in this community. For the past 15 years, it has been SocialMedia.org members like you who have helped leaders like you, in jobs like yours, with the toughest challenges in this industry.

All of your contributions this past year have been particularly outstanding. There was a range of thought-provoking conversations covering a variety of topics:

  • A “Grill the Vendor” series where you asked your most pressing questions to the executives of your most-used tools: Sprinklr, Khoros, Emplifi, and Sprout Social
  • Industry-specific huddles for the energy/utility, finserv, healthcare, and BtoB brands
  • Board Chair-only conversations for those of you leading your social media programs
  • “Show & Share” and “How It Got Made” conversations to give you a sneak peek into members’ most successful programs and campaigns.

In addition to our scheduled conversations, it was the urgent, last-minute discussions to benchmark real-time happenings that really proved the value this community has in times of crisis. You rallied multiple times last year to discuss everything from the overturning of Roe v. Wade, to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, to Elon Musk’s Twitter takeover.

Your input also directly helped your peers. You were there for each other in Fast Feedback to help answer questions and share documents on everything from in-house influencer activation platforms to resources for paid social media benchmarking. Direct connections also gave you and your fellow members an avenue to talk strategy in-depth — like when some of our big investment brands connected to discuss the new SEC marketing rules for influencer partnerships.

Overall, we’re glad you built a community where you can feel less alone in your role. On behalf of the entire team at SocialMedia.org, thank you for all of your contributions. Here’s to all the great things ahead of us in 2023.
