White House Demo Day Group Photo

Last week, we held Member Meeting 36 in Washington, D.C. It was a different kind of Member Meeting where we invited policy makers, legal experts, and government agencies to talk about how their work affects ours in social media. That included speakers from the FTC, SEC, NLRB, FINRA, and more.

But before we began those off-the-record presentations, a group of SocialMedia.org members were invited by United States Chief Technology Officer Megan Smith to the first-ever White House Demo Day.

At this event, entrepreneurs from a diverse set of backgrounds showcased their success stories to highlight our country’s opportunity for innovation and start conversations about tech resources. It was an energizing event full of inspiring ideas and jumping off points for important discussions.
